Mulled wine is the perfect drink for chilly nights in the Guadalupe Valley. This traditional recipe combines our red wines with aromatic spices to create a comforting and delicious experience.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of red wine (750ml) - we recommend our Cautivo or Morador

  • 2 oranges (1 sliced, 1 juiced)

  • 1 sliced ​​lemon

  • 3 cinnamon sticks

  • 4 star anise

  • 6 cloves

  • 3 tablespoons of honey or brown sugar

  • Optional: 1 shot of brandy or rum

Preparation:

  1. In a large pot, pour the red wine

  2. Add the orange and lemon slices

  3. Add the spices: cinnamon, star anise, and cloves.

  4. Add the orange juice and honey

  5. Heat over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes (do not boil)

  6. Keep the temperature between 60-70°C

  7. Add the brandy or rum if desired (optional)

  8. Strain and serve hot in heatproof cups
